Coach Fazio
over 35 years
David Fazio, also known as “Coach Faz” is the leader and inspiration behind every facet of Hooptown. Coach Fazio is the Andover High School Boys Varsity head coach, a role that he has loved for over 35 years. He was recently to the Coach of the year for the Massachusetts Basketball Coaches Association (2019), and the MVC Div 1 Coach of the Year (2025-2026). He has led the AHS Golden Warriors to over 500 wins. He brings the energy and enthusiasm to Hooptown each day, inspiring his staff and engaging the campers. He is in the Hall of Fame at Andover High School, Salem State College, Central Catholic High School, the Lawrence Boys and Girls Club and Massachusetts Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame (2022). He doesn’t plan on retiring from coaching anytime soon. So far, Andover has made the MIAA tournament 35+ times under Coach Faz’s leadership.
Coach Hibino
over 20 years
Alan Hibino first started at “Hooptown” at age 8 when his parents signed him up alongside his brothers for Andover Basketball School. Coach Hibino is the Andover High School Girls Varsity Basketball coach, entering his 9th year. He was named Division 1 MA Coach of the Year (2021-2022 & 2025-2026), and MVC Div 1 Coach of the Year (2025-2026). Prior to coaching the Lady Warriors, Coach Hibino worked with the Coach Fazio in the AHS Boys Bball program as JV coach (7 years) and the Freshman coach (7 years). Coach Hibino has also coached the AHS Girls Tennis team for over a decade, Div 1 Tennis Coach of the year (2014,2015,2016).He is a Math teacher at Andover High School.
Coach O'Dea
over 20 years
Kerri O’Dea first started at “Hooptown” entering the fourth grade, age 9, when she attended Andover Basketball School with her younger sisters for the first time. She has been at “Hooptown” playing or coaching, every summer since. Coach O’Dea is currently the Girls JV Basketball Coach at Andover High, serving for 9 years. Prior to that she was the Freshman Coach (9 years). She is has also served as the Girls JV volleyball coach for over 15 years. She is a Special Education teacher at Wood Hill Middle School.
Our Staff
Our coaches are Hooptown camp “graduates” who model the positive sportsmanship and character values important for basketball success. Philosophically, we believe that campers learn by doing – not by listening to a lecture. We believe that encouragement is the best motivator and always teach/coach in the positive! We believe that we offer the BEST camp around and sincerely appreciate the opportunity we have to help the youth enjoy the game of basketball.
